Wide Area Network (WAN) services, Local Area
Network (LAN)
services, Telecommunications Services, Video
Services, and Data Services. These requirements
are currently provided by the Unified NASA
Information Technology Services (UNITeS)
contract (#NNM04AA02C), the Outsourcing Desktop
Initiative for
NASA (ODIN) contract (NAS5-98140 thru NAS5-
98146), and NASA Center
IT/Communications contracts.
NICS will consolidate the NISN wide area and
Center local area networks and services, and
transform them into a seamless, end-to-end
network to reduce cost, implement consistent
operation procedures and processes, improve
security, and better integrate NASA’s people,
processes, and information to achieve mission
success.
Due Diligence Guidelines and Point of Contact
Information
Before the release of the NICS final RFP, NASA
is offering a formal period of due diligence in
response to industry requests. From Aug. 17 to
Sept. 4, potential bidders will have the
opportunity to meet in person with
representatives of the various Centers where
NICS efforts will occur. The objective is to
facilitate a greater technical understanding of
the existing environment (“as-is” conditions
only).
Potential prime contractor offerors may contact
the coordinators listed below to arrange for
meetings. Potential bidders may bring a maximum
of four people per meeting. Visits with
individual technical representatives will be
limited to one per week per prime contractor
team and will not exceed 1.5 hours per
visit.
The NASA coordinators will arrange for Center
access, badging, and scheduling of meetings with
NASA technical representatives.
Potential offerors should provide a list of
subjects to discuss along with their visit
request so that coordinators can assign the
appropriate technical representatives for these
face-to-face meetings. No additional tours will
be provided and no recording devices or cameras
will be allowed.
Interested firms are cautioned that due
diligence meeting times and Center personnel
availability are limited. Please ask the Center
coordinator how much time before your meeting to
allow for security purposes. Also, because the
purpose of these meetings is to facilitate a
greater technical understanding of the existing
environment, presentations regarding the
capabilities of potential bidders are not
considered to be an optimal use of this limited
time.
